Co-Location Shelter Fundamentals (NC-PEART-0229)

This course was formally known as the CAMET (Companion Animal Mobile Equipment Trailer) and Sheltering Course.

This course will train volunteers and emergency response personnel on the legal responsibilities for companion animal sheltering during emergencies, essential skills needed to set up an emergency animal shelter and how to utilize the Companion Animal Mobile Equipment Trailer (CAMET) and Companion Animal Shelter Trailer (CAST). Training will be divided into a a lecture format and a hands-on exercise.  Participants active in shelter planning and operations are encouraged to attend.  Participants are also encouraged to wear comfortable clothing for the hands-on portion. CEUs for Veterinarians and Vet Techs have been applied for through the NCVMB.
