Event Description

Emergency Response to Railroad Incidents (NC-8-020)

This training course is designed for those who may respond to or support railroad emergencies involving hazardous materials. The course combines classroom instruction with a hands-on workshop, featuring tank car protective housings and other training aides to provide realistic, practical experience.

Participants will also learn about tank car construction, common failure points, and what to expect when working alongside CSX and other rail officials during an incident.

Required Safety Gear:  Safety vest, gloves, safety glasses, long pants, and steel toe or composite toe boots. Please advise the instructor(s) of any pre-existing medical condition(s) that may preclude you from participating in any field exercise.
