Overview: Responders continue to see a growing spectrum of active threat incidents using unconventional weapons & tactics, including active shooter/active assailant incidents, mass shootings, knife/edged weapon attacks, vehicular ramming, improvised explosives, drones, and other emerging threats across the United States.
This fast-paced training is available to all first responders. It gives public safety responders and planners an overview of what is necessary to effectively and realistically manage a multi-agency response to a chaotic, fast-moving, and high-profile incident. The training will briefly address a wide range of current and emerging threats and include group/team activities.
Also, critical communications “up, in, and out” of your organization during a crisis are important. Updating and briefing senior and appointed officials with timely and accurate information in any community can be challenging during an active threat response. The event will receive considerable local, media, social media, regional, state, and federal attention
