The Raleigh National Weather Service, in partnership with the City of Raleigh Emergency Management will present a regional, multi-agency, interactive Winter Storm training and preparedness workshop on Thursday, December 4, 2025. This workshop will provide an overview of the winter weather products and services available from the National Weather Service before, during, and after winter storms, including the National Weather Service’s new probabilistic freezing rain and ice forecast product. This training will include exercises that focus on utilizing these products and services. Participants should bring a laptop, as the exercise will include online activities that utilize winter season forecast products and NWS communication tools. This workshop is intended for emergency management and public safety personnel, first-response organizations, media, public information officers, municipal staff, and other National Weather Service partners from the greater Triangle region of North Carolina.
