Course Overview
This course introduces first responders to the use of drones for creating accurate 2D maps
and 3D models to support traffic accident reconstruction, crime scene analysis, and
incident documentation. Students will learn how drones can rapidly capture high-
resolution imagery and measurements, improving scene documentation while reducing
roadway closures and personnel exposure.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
• Understand how drones support 2D mapping and 3D modeling for public safety incidents
• Safely deploy drones to document traffic accidents, crime scenes, and structure fires
• Capture imagery suitable for measurements and reconstruction
• Integrate drone-generated models into investigations and reports
