Event Description

EHPC Mobilization and Communication Exercise (EHPCMOBCOMFE)

Are you ready to tackle communication challenges and strengthen your tactical communications in a dynamic, virtual environment? We’re pleased to announce the 2026 Hurricane Communication Exercise (COMMEX)—an opportunity to sharpen capabilities and address communication gaps identified over the past year.

Date: Thursday, June 25, 2026
Time: 9:30 a.m. (EST)
Format: Primarily virtual
Participants are encouraged to mobilize within their assigned (or preferred) AHJ and conduct the exercise in a realistic operating environment.

Why Participate?

  • Test Your Equipment: Put your communication tools to use and verify functionality in a low-pressure, supportive exercise environment.
  • Reinforce Policies and Procedures: Review key communication protocols and best practices to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Identify and Address Gaps: Evaluate challenges from the past year and improve coordination for future incidents.
  • Cost-Effective Training: Gain meaningful exercise experience without the time and expense of travel or physical setup.

Who Should Attend?

  • Emergency Communications Unit personnel, including Auxiliary Communications and PSAPs
  • NC-recognized emergency response teams
  • IT support staff
  • Anyone involved in mobilization and communication support for NC AHIMTs

This exercise is designed to be flexible and accessible, allowing participants to engage in a way that best fits their operational needs and schedules. Don’t miss this opportunity to strengthen communication readiness ahead of the 2026 hurricane season.

Important Information: The Exercise Control Team will not be providing PTB sign-offs directly as part of this exercise. However, participation can count toward potential PTB sign-offs if you have a qualified, permitted individual available to sign. Because the exercise is primarily virtual, it will be up to someone on-site to observe, document task completion, and complete any required PTB documentation. The primary goal of this exercise is to ensure preparedness for the upcoming hurricane season.
