This workshop will provide training on the flash flood and river flood products and services available from the National Weather Service before, during, and after storms, including the National Weather Service’s new Flood Inundation Model which utilities the National Water Model. This training will include exercises that focus on utilizing these products and services. Participants should bring a laptop, as the exercise will include online activities that utilize flood products. This workshop is intended for emergency management and public safety personnel, first-response organizations, media, public information officers, municipal staff, and other National Weather Service partners from the greater Fayetteville region of North Carolina. Additional workshops will be scheduled in the near future for other regions of central North Carolina.
