This course is designed for the USAR Team member to demonstrate basic ICS principles relating to USAR Communications Response, NCEM Policies, Procedures, and Resources. It is HIGHLY recommended the student have completed the basic SWR/SAR Comms course prior. Students should will be instructed on Procedures for deployment, travel, and demobilization. The student shall demonstrate proficiency in establishing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various forms of Voice and Data Communications including programming SAR radios, testing equipment, tuning duplexers, and deploying various forms of wired and wireless networks. Students will learn Electricity and RF Concepts. Student will learn about NC SAR DMR Plan and serve as a SME for their team. Practical Exercises and extensive field work will allow principles to be put into action. Appropriate outside work attire (rain or shine) required.
Team leader must provide approval letter before student admitted to class.
