Duke Healthcare Preparedness Coalition Medical Reserve Corps Orientation (DHPC MRC)

Duke Healthcare Preparedness Coalition Medical Reserve Corps (DHPC MRC) comprises medical and non-medical volunteers who are interested in assisting Duke Healthcare Preparedness Coalition (DHPC) partners during special events, public health emergencies, or disasters that have had a catastrophic impact on a community’s healthcare infrastructure. DHPC MRC members could be deployed for multiple days at a time anywhere within the state.

DHPC MRC volunteers serve in many different ways when deployed during special events, emergencies, or disasters. Some roles to consider are:

  • Various medical provider roles
  • Record keeping/patient intake and discharge
  • Various logistical and/or planning roles when deployed with the State Medical Assistance Team NC 400
  • Assist in maintaining situational awareness
  • Assist with access control and site security
  • Provide customer service and public information at medical tents or in a mobile field hospital

Orientation training will be conducted within a one hour time frame via online delivery.
