NCEM developed an Introduction to Functional Assessment Support Team (FAST) training to provide people/organizations with a quick overview of the FAST program. This training will focus on understanding how FASTs work in shelters. The FAST Program’s mission is to help individuals with access and functional needs and others with disabilities maintain their independence and safety after a disaster by determining what they need through an assessment and procuring the required item(s) and service(s).
This training will cover the basic concept of the FAST program the FAST process in disaster response, and it will introduce how FAST supports those with access and functional needs in shelters. In addition, instructors will share additional requirements on becoming a FAST responder.
