The purpose of this course is to provide advanced knowledge for search and rescue incidents from the communications perspective. The course is built to enhance the skillset of those already trained in communications unit positions, with a focus on those tasked with creating, maintaining, and operating communications equipment on scene at a search and rescue event. The class will provide understanding of the intricacies of communications in a SAR environment and prepare students to provide effective communications as needed for these incidents.
Successful completion of the class will allow the student to apply for a position task book addendum for a NC SAR Communications endorsement addition to their existing COMU certification or credential.
