This course in intended for Fire Marshals, Fire Inspectors, HAZMAT Inspectors, and individuals involved in facility pre-planning. It is designed to provide a basic understanding of hazardous materials related topics and regulatory authorities in addition to fire code. The curriculum will cover identifying risks during facility visits and provide basic guidance on assessing that risk.
The class will review tools, such as E-Plan, Tier II and CAMEO Chemicals that can assist in chemical planning and research to guide any decision making and risk assessments for the facility and how to employ those tools. The course will also introduce regulatory authorities and what support that they provide to ensure the safe operation of these facilities as it relates to facility inspections and pre-planning activities.
