This course provides a basic overview and knowledge foundation about public safety radio systems.  This class includes basic radio frequency physics, different types of radio systems, and how the systems work. The purpose of this class is to provide information to responders, emergency communications personnel, emergency managers, and county employees who use radio systems in their jobs, so that they have an awareness level of what is required "behind the scenes" to make the end user radios work. Every radio system and end user radio might support different features and programming so this basic class will cover things broadly though the State’s VIPER radio system will be used as an example.
