Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program Training Course (HSEEP) (L-146.a)

Course Description

This is an intermediate-level course designed to provide a set of guiding principles, standardized methodology, available resources and practical skill development,

which will assist in developing an HSEEP consistent exercise program. This course describes a common approach to exercise program management, design and

development, conduct, evaluation, and improvement planning.

Selection Criteria: The target audience for this training are those involved in planning, program management, design and development, conduct, evaluation, and

improvement planning of HSEEP consistent exercises.

Course Objectives

Understand the role of HSEEP in National Preparedness, and how HSEEP exercise principles and methodology support efforts across the whole community to

improve our national capacity to build, sustain, and deliver core capabilities.

The HSEEP Training Course is a classroom instructor delivered course to field public and private sector organizations where participants learn about topics including:

• Program management

• Design and development

• Conduct

• Evaluation

• Improvement planning

The goal of the course is to provide professions with a set of guiding principles for exercise programs, as well as a common approach to exercise program

management, design and development, conduct, evaluation, and improvement planning. Through the use of HSEEP, exercise program managers can develop, execute,

and evaluate exercises that address the priorities established by their organization’s leaders.

Student must provide the instructor a copy of the IS 120.c completion certificate at the beginning of the course.
