Are you prepared with hazardous material and pre-planning knowledge for an unexpected chemical release within your community? This course will equip emergency managers with an understanding of hazmat programs and what information is available to responders and emergency managers.
Programs Include: Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), NC Department of Labor Hazardous Chemicals Right to Know, America’s Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) and Risk Management Program (RMP).
Topics include the emergency planning responsibilities of hazardous chemical storage facilities within an emergency planning district. How to identify facilities that may need to provide chemical storage and planning. The information Local Emergency Planning Committees and emergency managers are required to share with the public. The difference between facility planning and how it integrates into county planning.
