Training for qualified professionals to become part of NCEM’s Functional Assessment Support Team. The FAST Program’s mission is to help individuals with access and functional needs and others with disabilities maintain their independence and safety after a disaster by determining what that individual needs through an assessment and procuring the needed item(s) and/or service(s). This training will cover the concept of the program, the different job functions and expectations, a small tabletop exercise, and the additional requirements candidates will need to complete after the training session.
Candidates must have experience assessing/problem-solving with individuals with access and functional needs. Candidates will be waitlisted and approved on a rolling basis.
AT THIS TIME THIS TRAINING IS OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING: MEDICAL RESERVE CORP (MRC) VOLUNTEERS, STATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TEAM (SMAT) VOLUNTEERS, COUNTY DHHS AGENCIES, COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCIES, STATE DHHS AGENCIES, AND DISABILITY ADVOCACY ORGANIZATIONS/NON-PROFITS THAT PROVIDE SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH ACCESS AND FUNCTIONAL NEEDS.
