Course Description
The Tactical ROV Search and Recovery Operations course is an advanced, operations-focused training program designed for public safety personnel tasked with managing and conducting aquatic search and recovery missions. This course emphasizes the integration of Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) into search, recovery, and investigative operations while operating within an Incident Command System (ICS) framework.
Students will learn to apply structured management principles, operational planning, and modern technology to reduce risk, increase efficiency, and improve outcomes in aquatic incidents.
Course Objectives
- Apply Aquatic Incident Management Systems (AIMS) principles to real-world operations
- Safely deploy and operate underwater ROVs in search and recovery missions
- Integrate ROV operations into ICS / Unified Command environments
- Develop effective search strategies using ROVs and surface assets
- Conduct evidence recovery and documentation utilizing ROV technology
- Manage personnel, equipment, and risk during aquatic incidents
